Playground Dresden-Wilschdorf Natural play biotope and meeting place for young and old alike

The "Spielbiotop Wilschdorf" offers a meeting place for big and small children, residents, parents and grandparents between grassland, fruit meadow and village centre in a small space. On a formerly overgrown garden plot, the near-natural playground with robinia and oak wood elements was built directly at the landscape conservation area of the northern outskirts of Dresden.

With the playground, the state capital Dresden fulfils a long-cherished wish of this village district on the occasion of the 775th anniversary of Wilschdorf. At the express request of the local population, no stylized "village figures" such as climbing tractors or bouncing animals were installed, much more important to the parents, grandparents and kindergarten representatives was a natural, multifunctional playground that also offers something for older children to climb and shimmy.
Natural wooden elements encourage balancing, sitting, climbing, role-playing ... A seating area made of oak planks and robinia squared timber allows accompanying adults to engage in conversation and serves as a buffet station for children's birthday parties. Thanks to existing fruit trees and hornbeams, the playground is well protected from wind and sun right from the start. Complementary cherry trees and fruit bushes integrate the playground well into the meadow and orchard landscape ... and invite to snack in summer.
