Opposite the new city palace in Berlin, on the building site "Am Schinkelplatz", a 5-storey block development with 23 apartments and an office building is being built. The open spaces consist of a courtyard enclosed on all sides with a basement, which is connected to the public space via a passage with a transparent gate.
Rectangular areas with various "fillings" structure the courtyard. Lawn, grass and perennial areas, cut plant bodies and black natural stone push into each other and form small-scale zones of pleasant stay.
A small fountain underlines the contemplative character of the place.
