Emanuel-Merck-Platz opens up the plant to Frankfurter Straße and is the connecting square to the new headquarters and corporate headquarters.
Heinrich Emanuel Merck (* 1794 † 1855) was a pharmacist and founder of the pharmaceutical company Merck in Darmstadt. Today's Merck KGaA is thus the oldest pharmaceutical company in the world.
In 2018, MERCK KGaA celebrates its 350th anniversary.
