Football, Hockey, Ultimate and more...
The Turngemeinde in Berlin 1848 e.V.. (TiB) is one of the largest sports clubs in Berlin and offers numerous opportunities for its over 6,000 members. At the central club location on Columbiadamm, the sports facilities were rebuilt and renovated. The result is a contemporary sports area, which is mainly designed for hockey, football, athletics, ultimate frisbee, touch rugby and jugger.
Stadium
The main field was developed as a type C fighting track in water-permeable synthetic construction with artificial turf field. The stadium has four circular arc tracks with 400 m running length, eight individual tracks for straight sprint and hurdle distances and a combined facility for long jump and triple jump west of the artificial turf field. The running tracks are equipped with an integrated "Smartrack" timing system, which provides the ambitious athlete with detailed documentation of training content and performance via an app in addition to timekeeping. The synthetic turf field was constructed as a hockey multi-purpose turf and offers the following sports: 1 large hockey field, 1 hockey-¾ field, 2 small hockey fields, 2 ultimate frisbee fields, 1 large soccer field, and 2 small soccer fields. The northern synthetic segment of the athletic track includes an artificial turf small-size playing field with ball catch fencing, while the southern segment includes space for a high jump facility, pole vault facility, and the linings, including ground sleeves, for a volleyball court. The sports areas of the stadium are equipped with a 200 lux LED floodlight system and a fully automatic irrigation system. The drainage of the sports facility takes place via infiltration ditches.
Side field
The side field was equipped as a natural grass field with fully automatic irrigation system. Here there is the possibility to use the following sports: 2 Ultimate Frisbee fields, 1 Touch Rugby field and 4 Jugger fields.
Other
Above the embankment, southeast of the stadium is a shot put facility with a competition circle and two training circles. In addition, an outdoor fitness facility with various training facilities has also been placed there. In the course of the renovation, a total of 23 trees were newly planted on the club grounds and approx. 200m² of planting areas were created. The water for the irrigation and maintenance of the sports facilities is supplied by a deep well with a cistern. Stadium and side court have a centrally controlled sound system.
