Redesign of the Königstrasse pedestrian zone in Kassel 1.BA Untere Königsstraße

Obere and Untere Königsstraße from Fünffensterstraße to Kurt-Schumacher-Straße are getting on in years. Due to its high maintenance costs and poor design quality, the pedestrian zone from the 1960s is being completely renovated so that the city center remains attractive for visitors and customers. The specific aim of this measure is to completely renew the pavement, which is deteriorating in large sections. The entire pedestrian zone is to be designed as uniformly as possible in line with its central and regional importance and upgraded with a coordinated furniture concept. The construction work will be carried out while the streetcar continues to run.
