The Paderquell area is a near-natural, little touched area in direct proximity to the urban-historical cultural landscape of Paderborn with its special monument topography. Funded as a "National Project of Urban Development", the redesign of the open spaces includes the renaturation of the unique, inner-city springs and river courses in the central Paderquell area. The opening of the green spaces as well as an improved routing of the paths promote the perceptibility of the river landscape. At the same time, a near-natural design and ecological continuity ensure the urban climate and biodiversity on site.
In order to improve the local recreational and recreational qualities, the forecourt of the Paderhalle will be supplemented with groups of trees and seating and enlarged to form an extended foyer that invites visitors to linger. Large bench elements line the square area and delimit it from the car park. Seating steps in the embankment create new user offers in special areas.
The area of the former Haxthausenhof is spatially framed by rhododendrons and developed into an urban garden. Lawn modelling hints at the historic location of the Haxthausen villa and, together with the historic garden wall, which is partly reduced to sitting height, refers to the historical background of the city.
