Münchwiesen school center Bad Sobernheim

The school, which is divided into primary, secondary and intermediate schools, was completely renovated due to the restructuring of the school. In this context, the outdoor facilities were redesigned by Enviro-Plan.



The schoolyard of the elementary school was created on the site of the previous bus stop area, covering an area of 2,400 m². In addition to a purely structural change, the child-friendly and safe schoolyard design was the top priority. The school playground offers children the opportunity to express their energy and urge to move in order to avoid arguments and fights. The primary school playground was therefore designed to encourage movement and communication. Various play equipment including a play tower and ship, nest swing, table tennis table and a mini football pitch have been placed in the school playground. A green classroom and various seating options (benches, seating stones, seating mounds and boulders) offer space for relaxation. The valuable tree population was largely preserved and new trees were planted to provide additional shade. Additional plants were planted to create a green and natural atmosphere on the one hand and to provide privacy on the other. As the lawn area can only withstand the high usage pressure to a limited extent, additional areas were created with paving, grass paving, wood chips, tartan plastic and asphalt. The schoolyard with its representative character also serves as a connection to the new main entrance of the elementary school. The design contributes to an inviting atmosphere and increases the identification of pupils, teachers, parents and citizens with the school.
