A green pattern is laid out like a carpet so that all edges and surfaces are covered. Extensive greenery serves as a ground layer; additional intensively planted areas lend patches of color to the pattern. All ceilings are covered with intensive vegetation and connected to the surrounding topography at several points, so that the volumes thus represent an extension of the existing topography. The topography of the surroundings slopes down from the north-east side in the south-west corner. The main axis also follows this direction, the visitor's path along the ceiling is accompanied by a view over the roofscape and the hilly landscape in the background. In this way, the ceiling becomes an entry point into the landscape and at the same time part of the daily routine of the neighborhood's inhabitants. The ceiling offers an impressive panorama of the surroundings. Our design and the application of the ecological effects of intensive green roof technology is a groundbreaking in Turkey.
All non-greened areas of the project are clad or tiled with one material: earth-colored ceramic tiles, which contain different degrees of perforation depending on their function.
