Kronshagen town center - green space with forecourt at train station

The urban structure of Kronshagen's town center will be further developed as a lively and identity-forming heart of the community. The focus of the planning reorganization is on optimizing the quality of the public space with its pathways and connections.

The redesigned green space forms the entrance to the town center from the train station. The aim is to increase the existing quality of the green space by strengthening the existing potential and creating new areas.

Long benches along the path, a newly designed square with water features and a play area with trampolines invite you to linger.

By partially thinning out the existing old trees, a rhythm is created between sunny and shady open spaces, while at the same time preserving the characteristics of the square. Unobstructed views and a link between the paths through several rear openings create a connection between the green area to the south and the market square to the north of Kieler Straße.

Uniform paving material for the main paths and an extensively planted band of grasses and perennials with color accents and complementary leaf and flower colors create a friendly, inviting public open space and tie in with Kronshagen's horticultural tradition.
