On 10 May 2001, the former President of the German Bundestag and patron of the German Landscape Architecture Award 2001 competition, Wolfgang Thierse, presented the German Landscape Architecture Award 2001 in the "Biosphäre Potsdam". The winners were Atelier Loidl Landschaftsarchitekten for the "Lustgarten in Berlin Mitte" and Ottomar Lang, landscape architect BDLA, for the "Rebirth of a River Delta. Landscape development plan for the Reuss delta on Lake Lucerne/ Canton Uri". Nine works were honoured with an appreciation.
