Filseck Castle Outdoor facilities

On behalf of the Filseck Castle Foundation of the Kreissparkasse Göppingen, the open spaces around the castle were also redesigned as part of an overall concept for a landscape park. The planning placed emphasis on the special features and the character of the castle, which should be preserved and strengthened.

The newly created redeveloped open spaces combine different demands, usable areas and new areas to stay in the castle facilities Filseck. Important visual references, e.g. into the surrounding localities Uhingen and Faurndau are opened. The Münch and castle park was recreated according to the model from 1853. At today's side entrance is the chestnut courtyard with tree canopy, which is used as a beer garden. The orchard was supplemented by newly planted fruit trees and thus became the pomology to the west of Filseck Castle. Immediately adjacent to the castle, kitchen and perennial gardens were laid out, in memory of the historic kitchen garden. A woodland terrace was created around the restored pump house.

The outdoor facilities at Filseck Castle, on the one hand, show the historical references of the former castle grounds in modern forms of use and design and are the starting point and centerpiece of the newly developed Filseck Landscape Park.
