In addition to the pond renovation, the main focus of the planning was the spatial and plant-related revision of the garden complex.
Using existing structures, different garden spaces were created, which are linked to each other both by visual relationships and by the existing path.
The alternation of individual trees, groups of trees and forest-like sections in the English Garden is continued in the garden complex.
The existing woodland backdrop creates a natural space-creating element and provides an attractive background for various new plantings of woody plants and perennials with a predominantly natural character. They achieve a good long-distance effect with variations in foliage colours, leaf and crown shapes and also offer seasonal colour aspects. The long-distance effect was the main focus.
A pond-edge planting frames the pond, but also leaves riparian areas open and connects it to the garden as a transition zone. It remains predominantly low so that it can be seen over.
Some woody plants provide accents and will occasionally block the view of the lake as it ages, only to open it up anew.
The areas near the buildings have been more intensively landscaped using both structural and vegetative means.
The immediate proximity to the English Garden and the status of the site as a landscape conservation area necessitated special consideration of nature conservation concerns with regard to development during the construction period and design aspects.
