The gap in Ludwig-Weimar-Gasse between the Stadtsparkasse Jena and the Neue Vitamine will be transformed into a modern urban garden. The pocket park invites visitors to linger with its seating and planting. The historical motif of the enclosure of the front garden at the Stadtsparkasse was taken up and transformed into the basic structure of the modern city garden in the gap between the buildings. The picturesque multi-stemmed ironwood tree (Parrotia persica) forms the center of the garden. With its funnel-shaped growth, early blossoming and orange-red autumn coloring, it provides changing impressions every season.
