Designing the centre of the river Rems in Lorch-Waldhausen Remstal Garden Show 2019

From the source of the Rems to its mouth in the Neckar, the intercommunal Remstal Garden Show took place in 2019. Lorch is one of 16 municipalities that contributed to this extraordinary concept. The linchpin of the project is the geometric centre of the River Rems, which is located in Lorch-Waldhausen. The aim was to emphasize this by an attractive design and to make it experiencable. A large natural stone arranged in the centre of concentric stone circles marks the centre of the Rems in the middle of the river. A square along the stream, interspersed with strips of paving and steel-framed, attractive perennial plantings, opens up this new attraction on the Remstal cycle path with a set of steps. In addition to benches in the area of the square, direct sitting by and experiencing the water body is also planned in the form of a curved seating wall. Playing facilities complete the leisure offer.
