Multi-generational playground,
experience and knowledge of nature.
The Härtsfeldsee was built in 1972 as a reservoir for the retention of flood waters, which repeatedly hit the community of Dischingen and caused severe damage. The function of flood protection essentially determined the design of the lake and the shore areas. Due to relatively steep embankments, the accessibility and experienceability of the lake is very limited.
The central location of the Härtsfeldsee between Neresheim and Dischingen near the Katzenstein Castle, as a future stop of the museum train "Härtsfeldschättere", on the heavily frequented cycle path "Grüner Pfad" and as an information point of the theme trail "geologisches Musterländle Härtsfeld", the Härtsfeldsee gains more and more attraction and importance. The project "Nature and water experience Härtsfeldsee" combines these tourist offers.
Through (play) offers for all age groups and the nature information boards around the Härtsfeldsee, visitors to the Härtsfeldsee are sensitized to the special features of the landscape and thus contribute to the preservation and protection of natural habitats and biodiversity. The project "Nature and Water Experience at Lake Härtsfeld" has created a wide-ranging offer that spans and connects generations. This is accepted by many interest groups such as families, young people, local recreation seekers, nature lovers and recreational athletes.
