The spa gardens of Bad Oeynhausen have an eventful 150-year history. The development of the spa park is also linked to the emergence of spa architecture.
Today's planning is based on the park maintenance work, which was completed in 2000 by landscape architect Christhard Ehrig.
The formal planning of the central fountain square in the main architectural axis is specified in the target plan of this park maintenance work. The park maintenance plan provides for a clear square boundary in the target plan, which takes up the tracery of the fountain basin like a passepartou.
The path axis between Kurhausplatz and Fontänenplatz, which was dismantled in 1964, was restored as a connecting corridor in axial symmetry. The integration of the fountain square into the park maintenance system is also based on the target plan.
