Landscape Park Wetzgau LGS 2014

The landscape park Wetzgau is a local recreation area, which is newly developed on the hill, on the outskirts of Schwäbisch Gmünd. The park is being created as part of the State Horticultural Show 2014. Large parts of the landscape park will continue to exist after the State Horticultural Show and thus enrich the quality of life of the Wetzgauer in the long term.

Various actors from the surrounding communities, including the company for cosmetics and medicinal plants Weleda, have the opportunity to present themselves in show gardens and small architectures. Integrating these various stations into a whole and making them accessible is the task of the landscape and park design by Ramboll Studio Dreiseitl.

Through earth modelling and a path typology that fits harmoniously into the existing terrain modelling, the visitor is guided through sometimes intimate, sometimes open areas. But individual stations also bear witness to the expertise of Ramboll Studio Dreiseitl. The water garden with natural pond, raft pond and water playground, is a highlight of the Wetzgau Landscape Park and part of an overall ecological concept. In the 7000 m² hemp maze, you can hide, climb onto a lookout, or linger on large cushions in the trembling poplar grove. The entrance area, where the existing driving silo is temporarily unused as an open-air room, as well as the green wedding room and the Ostalbgarten are among the stations planned by Ramboll Studio Dreiseitl.
