The area of learning sites along the Brenz in Bergenweiler complements and completes the learning sites and experience points of the other communities from the origin of the Brenz in Königsbronn to its mouth in Faimingen.
The Brenz is to be made tangible as a watercourse and lifeline in the region. The population and in particular children and young people are to be introduced to the flowing waters of the Brenz in a playful way. In addition, the planned information boards are intended to raise awareness of the topics "Protection of the water ecosystem" and "Protection of natural habitats and biological diversity". Among other things, schools have the opportunity to make the subject of the ecosystem of water, nature and landscape comprehensible at the learning sites within the framework of interdisciplinary project days. The learning sites are intended to create a broad range of activities that span and connect generations. This is to address many interest groups such as kindergartens schools, families, young people, local recreation seekers, nature lovers and recreational athletes.
The project is integrated and linked by cycling and hiking trails.
The project contributes to the improvement of the quality of life in rural areas and strengthens soft tourism.
In the planning and implementation of the project, the ideas and wishes of the citizens (in several citizen meetings) flowed into the project. The active village community helped with the implementation.
