Minimalist accents in historic surroundings
The partially shaded garden courtyard is characterized by a spacious terrace area in the center, which accommodates a swimming pool in its eastern half and offers space for an impressive planting theme in the western part.
The central room layout takes into account the existing mighty sycamore maple and integrates the new steel spiral staircase leading down from the living room balcony of the upper floor. Likewise, the new patio area connects the two exits from the basement. The floating wooden deck under the maple spans the particularly intensively rooted crown area transversely. A planting island in the deck stages a silver candle (Cimicifuga ramosa 'Atropurpurea') as a solitary beauty.
The planting area is determined in the sunny zone extensively by ornamental grasses to build up as strong a natural atmosphere as possible. The lighting concept presents the mighty tree and uses the historic brick wall to create an evenly spaced impression, even in the dark.
