More sustainability is not possible! Requested by a highly committed and open-minded client, we were able to implement a project in congenial collaboration with the architectural office of Joachim Eble, which is unparalleled in this consistency.

Connected to the existing organic farm and respectfully nestled in the rolling hills of the Bavarian hop-growing area Hollertau ensteht here a residential and commercial area for about 450 residents. Energy is generated from 100
A local heating network fed by a combined heat and power plant supplies the residents with heat, grey water and rainwater. It is collected and reused. The black water is fermented into a soil in a Terra Preta plant and turned into a high quality product for sale through the agroforestry system located around the settlement. Many cycles (energy, water, nutrients, etc.) are largely closed and the buildings meet at least Pssivhaus standards. The main building materials also come from regional sources. In 2011, the city of Pfaffenhofen was also named the most sustainable city in the world (category 20,000-75,000 inhabitants) because of the Eco-Quartier.
