Local development Owingen

The task was to develop an overall strategy for the village of Owingen, oriented to 50 years. In citizen workshops, ideas were collected for the center of the village, the main streets and the inclusion of the surrounding landscape.

A proposed redesign of the village center takes into account all major site-specific routes, as well as meeting places with play and seating. High quality of stay, but also the provision of areas for temporary events, such as festivals, are important aspects in the design of this "green center". For the redesign of the main street, it is proposed to reduce traffic, to introduce new crossing areas and to create spatial sequences which stand out from the "rain profile" of the street due to their special load as square areas. A sustainable rainwater concept includes green roofs for new buildings as well as the collection and infiltration of excess water from roofs and paved areas. In order to support the sustainable development of the village, the conservation and development of the village edges in a manner typical of the landscape is proposed. Completing the network of paths on the edge of the village will help to enhance the experience of the quality and beauty of the landscape around Owingen.
