"Rochor River" is an urban stormwater channel that flows from Bukit Timah all the way down to Marina Reservoir. The canal flows mostly through a dense urban fabric and along busy roads.
The new role of the river is to create a connection of segregated enclaves and strengthen as sense of the Marina connecting the city and water. Parallel pedestrian zone, boulevards from the surroundings of the Rocher Promenade and a water landscape, which verient both green, blue orange (human) elements - will soon be filled with activities and life. At the same time, the greenbelt provides a green corridor for fauna along the canal, giving residents the opportunity to appreciate the wildlife on their doorstep.
The design of the new Rochor Promenade is intended to bring people closer to the water. A layering system for the various urban infrastructures of greenery, vehicles, pedestrians and culture is adopted so that the design can be holistically flexible to current conditions and concept.
