Lombok Tanjung Ringgit

The Tanjung Ringgit area stretches like a kind of elongated peninsula into the Indian Ocean. Unlike the rough north coast, there are flat sandy beaches in the south, with coral reefs behind. The view of the impressive volcano Rinjani enchants every visitor.

Are topography, location and sea impressive, the vegetation is in a very poor condition. Due to deforestation, decades of erosion and overgrazing by buffalo, the original Sekaroh forest (Dry Reinforest) is completely destroyed.

On this site, an eco-tourism project for about 6,000 tourists is to be established. In 8 Enklaven, which receive in each case an independent character and into the topographic conditions are fitted, enstehen completely CO2-neutral villages. As there is no connection to any public infrastructure, a local solution has to be developed for everything. Electricity is generated exclusively from renewable energy sources, mainly solar and wind energy, the water supply is based on 60 % rain water and 40 % wind water.

The water supply will be based on 60 % rainwater and 40 % seawater desalination and the black water and organic waste from the permaculture gardens will be used to produce Terra Preta, a highly productive soil, which will also be the basis for reforestation.

In and around the enclaves, permaculture-based fruit and vegetable gardens are planned, which will be cultivated by local farmers, with the harvests being sold to tourists or restaurants. The integration of the local population plays an important role, so jobs are created and the developed new technologies (energy/water/terra preta) should also help to improve the quality of life in the surrounding villages.
