In the area of the Alfred Ritter Bridge, the Aich was blocked on both sides with bank walls and forced into a narrow, artificial profile. In addition to the lack of water ecological functions, this section, which is centrally located in Waldenbuch, also had no quality of stay and offered no possibility to experience the water. As part of the redevelopment of the Alfred-Ritter-Straße - Neuer Weg area, the dilapidated Ritterbrücke bridge was replaced by a new, attractively designed bridge and the stream was redesigned. The acquisition of a piece of land adjacent to the stream was the key to the possibility of the generous widening of the profile and the near-natural design. The newly created Aichter terraces lead the population to the redesigned stream via bank ramps and offer the opportunity to linger with integrated benches.
