Transformation and expansion of the existing Hanns-Glückstein-Park. Urban development and definition of urban spatial edges.
The "park triangle" of Hanns-Glückstein-Park, characterised by large trees and lawns, is to serve the surrounding urban spaces increasingly for leisure, play and local recreation in the future. The aim is to define and at the same time weave together the urban edge in the transition to the Glückstein quarter.
In order to continue the urban character of the new Glückstein quarter to the south of Glücksteinallee, a new residential development is being created in the form of urban villas that form a clear edge towards the street and create a clear "gateway to the park" through a window-like opening opposite the workshop building. The angles of view and visual relationships from the park to the historic ensemble of workshop building/locomotive shed as well as the building lines of the surrounding buildings determine the structural edges of the new architecture. Towards the street, the urban villas present themselves as a unit; towards the park, the structural presence is more selective and loose due to the tapering of the building edges.
