The new DFB & its academy are to be built on the site of the former racecourse in the Niederrad district by the end of 2021. The DFB's Executive Committee unanimously decided to accept the City of Frankfurt's offer of land and to build its new headquarters and a performance center under one roof.
In terms of content, the academy is based on the pillars of national team, education and innovation. The basic idea of the open space concept is to create a coherent "forest campus": a place that is embedded in the existing Frankfurt city forest and offers the players, coaches and referees optimal conditions for learning and further education. In the academy, they will find a comprehensive range of action and seminar rooms as well as areas for treatment and regeneration. The new citizens' park in the north of the site is part of the overall idea of greening the entire area and creating new recreational opportunities for citizens.
