The redesign of the public space of Bahnhofstraße in the market town of Murnau creates a new cohesion of the special urban situation by creating a generously designed and connecting urban floor. In doing so, separating elements such as curbs and steps are deliberately avoided. The separating effect of the traffic areas at the intersection, which existed until now, has also been removed and the areas merge smoothly into one another. With the partial removal of Kohlgruber Street running in a westerly direction and the creation of rows of trees and lawns, the existing building is more strongly integrated into its surroundings. What was previously an area dominated by traffic has become a space that can be used in a variety of ways, framed by the new curved bench that invites various groups to linger.
