Jagst relocation Lauchheim

With the relocation of the Jagst, an ecological extension was created, the Jagst weir was dismantled, an oil barrier was installed and structural improvement measures were introduced along the course of the watercourse.

The ecological watercourse expansion of the Jagst runs over a watercourse section of approx. 820 m, which is divided into three focal areas. Starting with the renaturation of the Jagst, which is located about 150 m downstream of the Lauchheim town park.

1. (Partial) relocation of the Jagst
To get close to the original, historical course of the Jagst again, the Jagst was relocated and renaturalized. For the ecological upgrading and improvement of the water dynamics, structurally improved measures, such as the installation of sturgeon stones and rootstocks, were introduced.

2. Demolition and deconstruction of the Jagst weir
The Jagst weir, which was located about 380 m further downstream, was deconstructed. The deconstruction of the weir removed a barrier, thus creating a passage for fish and other creatures.

3. relocation of the oil boom
In the original weir was an oil boom - plant (equipment hut) built up The equipment hut was now stationed further downstream, near the sewage treatment plant Lauchheim.
