Cemetery Hüttlingen

Development of an overall concept for the Hüttlingen cemetery and implementation in several construction phases.

The cemetery in Hüttlingen is located on a hill with a view of the town and the surrounding landscape of the Swabian Alb. The largest part of the terraced cemetery extends on the upper level along a north - south running axis.

In 2017, a sustainable overall concept was developed for the cemetery Hüttlingen. Here, emphasis was placed on a clear structuring and the creation of various recreational areas. In addition, new burial forms such as lawn graves, an urn community gravesite and an area for star children were developed.
In the first construction phase, the entrance area and the forecourt of the funeral hall were redesigned. A staircase made of shell limestone as well as a light-colored concrete slab paving provide for an inviting and pleasant atmosphere.
The barrier-free design of the central axis was the main component of the 2nd construction phase. At the same time, a new watering hole and several seating areas were created. Perennial plantings provide an attractive setting.
In the 3rd construction phase, a communal urn gravesite was laid out as a lawn field with spring flowers. On a natural limestone stele are the name plaques of the deceased. At the same time, the toilet facilities in the funeral hall were converted to be barrier-free.
