Design of the market place and the surroundings of the church St. Martinus, attractiveness of the city centre, restructuring and optimisation of public spaces and traffic zones.
The "church hill" and the market square around the church of St. Martinus are strengthened in our concept
and as a historical heart and "hub" of the city center worked out, exposed and emphasized.
The separation principle with sidewalks, bike lanes and lanes for motorized traffic developed city hall road today cuts the city center and acts as a barrier.
In the future, the separating effect is to be reduced by removing the separation principle through a traffic-calmed area. As furniture, play and information elements
"floats" the so-called "Ems flotsam" through the city centre. The blocks, made of wood and steel
reminiscent of flotsam or rafts, serve as multifunctional play decks and seating islands, and also contain information about the city, the river and its history(s).
