New construction of a refectory
Redesign of the outdoor facilities and the schoolyard
For the 2014/2015 school year, the Anne Frank School in Möhringen began the changeover from the Realschule
to the community school operation with the Heilbrunnenschule. With the conversion, the school is entitled to more space. This need is to be covered by a refectory new building in the first construction phase as well as a structural extension of the existing building in the second construction phase. The cafeteria is intended to serve both schools and be seen as the "heart" of an emerging campus
The new main student entrance has been moved slightly to the south and framed by an attractive grass planting. It leads into the central school courtyard, where the outdoor dining area is highlighted via inlays in the paving. This is the new main entertaining area of the schoolyard. Functional areas, such as parking, bicycle parking and delivery are accessible via separate access roads and are distinguished from the central schoolyard by a change of surfacing. The
delivery is secured on a short way, north of the new refectory, from Hechinger Street. In the
area of the delivery is also the former club access and the garden of the caretaker's apartment.
