Design of the open spaces in the vicinity of the new administration building
The Energieversorgung Filstal, EVF for short, planned a new
administration building at Großeislinger Str. 28-30 in Göppingen, which has now been completed. The new building was erected directly next to
the existing building and connected by two new transitions.
The new main entrance for visitors / customers is located on the south side of the new building and is framed by a
appealing grass planting east and a discreet water feature west. It leads into the new reception hall, where the interior of the new building enters into a symbiosis with the exterior via materials and forms. Here, a flowing transition from inside to outside is created, which is supported by a generous glass façade. The height level of the existing walkway to the main entrance is compensated by a wide staircase.
The employees reach the new inner courtyard via the existing cafeteria and the intermediate corridor, which can serve as a place to stay and a small retreat. Here, the difference in height between the existing building and the new building is compensated by a small staircase, which intersects with a ramp. Barrier-free access for visitors and employees is provided via the employee entrance to the north.
