Masterplan Philosophikum I and II of the Justus Liebig University and subsequent open space planning

The redesign of the 30-hectare Philosophikum campus of the Justus Liebig University located in Central Germany will create a university location with special urban and landscape qualities. This location will become one of the most important university locations in the German federal department of Hesse. By means of newly placed building elements, an urban figure will be developed, creating clearly defined open spaces and further develops the special natural location of the campus area:
- A new campus square will become the center of the development
- The new building structure on the northern side of the campus will be embedded in an open landscape park-like structure
- Carefully selected additions to the building fabric in the southern, forest-like part will give an own character to the area
- The attractive landscape space of the Klingelbachaue will be further developed by being integrated from its origin up to the central campus square and will be upgraded as a connecting green corridor to the city centre.
