In the course of the energetic renovation, the residence of the German Embassy in Rabat (Morocco) will be extensively reconstructed and its existing room distribution will be changed. This will result in a relocation of the main access from the southern to the western side of the main building, enabling an access road with a bypass.
In this context, a redesign of the outdoor facilities is necessary.
The former farmyard with garage is transformed into a representative driveway, a covered pergola allows access to the building. Solitary trees in planters lead to the entrance, orange trees line the driveway and provide a connecting element between the existing grove and the new planting.
The former main entrance is connected to the driveway by a generous flagstone path, this continues into the garden and branches off to the terrace. The previous tall framing planting around the pool is thinned out in favour of lower planting, this continues to the north. A linear planting along the pool guides the view into the garden.
