Marking the history of the urban layout with the formation of an ensemble of existing and new fragments in geometric surface and path design. Instead of determining the use of the space, areas are formed with diverse textures such as lawn, water cover or perennials.
The story of the destroyed city is told. The park is located on the site of a formerly densely built-up block. Areas are added to the remaining fragments of the city by grouping different textures such as lawn, wild growth with sand pond, perennials and bound path cover.
The former trampling paths have become paths that structure the relief of the different areas and lead to a small circular square with a fountain surrounded by columnar oaks. Double rows of trees close the block. Towards Wilhelmstraße, arcades take up the lines of the historic buildings and thus form a closure to the street. The stairs and walls of the elevations form inner spaces, a lawn that can be used in many ways, and a football and playground embedded in a dense grass landscape. On Friedrichstraße, a square was created that closes the green area to the street and whose arcade forms the gateway to the park.
Details, such as the sheathing of the columns with ceramic drainage pipes and the steel beams of the arcades or the rough concrete of the walls with the clinker inlays were developed from the material fund of Kreuzberg commercial buildings.
Scattered throughout the park are objects and sculptures by the sculptor Heinrich Brummack.
