The Ignaz-Kögler-Gymnasium, located on the western edge of the old town of Landsberg, directly on the Lechschleife, was completely renovated in the course of the conversion of the grammar schools from 9 to 8 school years and received, among other things, a new assembly hall and a new gymnasium. The aim of the planning was to integrate the open spaces with their different contents and requirements as harmoniously as possible into the overall situation and to better integrate the open spaces into the existing green corridor along the Lech.
In the context of this measure, the existing outdoor sports facility was dismantled and replaced by new sports areas (running track, long jump pit, grass volleyball court). In addition, fire brigade access roads and set-up areas had to be integrated. Individual solutions were developed in close cooperation with the school and the parents' council. Thus, a fountain was created, which was then designed by the art class on their own initiative. The construction measures were carried out while the school was in session.
