The sports field on Lechstraße is located in the city center of Landsberg, between the eastern bank of the Lech River and the old town. A new artificial turf small pitch, as well as a new all-weather pitch with small pitch, tennis, basketball, volleyball, high jump and long jump facilities were built on top of an underground car park that was to be renovated. The renovation became necessary, among other things, because static specifications had not been adhered to at the time.
The particular challenge of this measure now consisted of an unrestricted (sports field) DIN-compliant facility, with strict adherence to the static specifications, whereby ultimately only a very low layer thickness of approx. 40 cm was available, and in addition conventional fill materials had to be replaced by lightweight construction materials. Special constructions had to be developed for the foundations of the fixtures, such as playground equipment and ball fence, taking into account the newly applied roof seal.
In the context of this measure, the entrance area to the adjacent gymnasium was revised. A generous set of steps, covered with a grove of trees, now connects the gymnasium and sports field and is at the same time a recreation area and meeting place for the young athletes and students. Wooden decks, seating cuboids and a drinking fountain invite to relax and linger.
