The Schwanheimer Uferstraße on the southern bank of the Main ends at the western access road to the B 40a. It was built in the 1960s. Originally, it was planned to continue this road with four lanes to the Leuna bridge to the west. These plans were later abandoned: However, the first 100 metres at the beginning of Höchster Weg were still upgraded at that time. The remaining road stub became more and more a wild parking lot for cars and trucks. In the course of this project, the Uferstraße was reduced to two lanes in this section. To the side, they put in a pedestrian bike path that was cut out of the road. The subgrade has been completely reused. Oak trees planted on the side form an avenue. In addition, a row of trees made of Norway maples has been continued. It divides the newly created parking areas for the walkers and allotment gardeners. Seeds from the nearby nature reserve "Schwanheimer Düne" were used for the meadow areas.
