The design evolves from the context of historical and modern references, which brings back the identity of the place. The museum garden conveys the atmosphere of a fragrant garden, in contrast to the hectic and noisy bustle of the city center.
The clear demarcation from the street space captures the building's rear side parterre garden in its new form.
The 1800 m² area is divided into a grid of gravel areas and plant beds of ground cover, which creates a clear reference through the historical ground plan of the city museum, as well as its facade structure. Accents are set by the fragrant cherry trees, which spatially structure the area.
Awarded with the prize "Gardens in the City" 2006-2007 of the Saxon State Ministry for the Environment and the Saxon Association for Gardening, Landscaping and Sports Ground Construction.
