The almost 25-year-old playground at Fritz-Gumpert-Platz in Heidenau has been transformed into a multigenerational facility with an inclusion playground. A public open space has been created that can be used by everyone regardless of their origin, age or handicap. For us, inclusion means creating a variety of offers that tries to meet a broad spectrum of needs. Under the theme of "Gumpi's Island Paradise", existing structures such as the paths and the copses were retained, but enhanced and made unique by selective interventions in the form of the new play islands.
Five islands address the different needs of users: the Junior Island for the youngest children, the Adventure Island with a large play area, the Paddling Island as a water playground, the Fitness Island with sports equipment and the Show Time Island as a stage area for events. In addition to the islands, other installations such as the bike bench, the community garden or the cable car complete the offer.
